Football Oh Malaysia....

"Good team depends on their coach, and coaches the only to be blamed". The most insecure profession in this entire world I would say Malaysian football Coach. If we managed to gathered all the resources to pay Sir Alex Ferguson, or Jose Morinho, or even Gus Hiddink to be Malaysian Coach, the results I expected to be the same.

As shabby used to say in Jozan talk show, “go play other sports”. I’m strongly agreed with him. But if we are really serious to involve in the international football scenario, we have to change. It’s not the FAM, it’s the entire populations attitude towards sports. Nurture the sports culture in everybody. Change our diets, change our schools systems, and change our attitudes. Are we ready and willing to do that, than the change will took place. Not just football, even other sports will improve their achievement internationally.

Physical educations teachers should be given more teaching hours. Ask them to concentrate with the sports activities, do not teach other subjects. Or they only should teach sports and health related subjects in schools. Employ more PE teachers in schools, other subjects should only started at 10 a.m and schools will only adjourned at 3 p.m. as the results we would have more healthy pupils, bigger pool of talented athletes, and for sure more higher quality of athletes can be developed.

No specific sports should be exposed to the lower primary school students, multidimensions physical fitness should be developed to these pupils. From standard four, they can be segregate to their perspective sports. Lets them enjoy their fame within their age groups. When they reached secondary schools the real talent and top athlete can be trace. Train them to the highest level, only some will success to play at the higher level. If they didn’t manage to play at the higher level, at least they would have better physical conditions.

Then we will see more ‘Jalur Gemilang’ waived in the international arena. Then we can start to count or predict on how may Olympic gold medal we could collect. Or we can start to bid for hosting World Cup. If we keep continuing our current traditional method, we will keep arguing on our athlete performance. We need high performance coach to be a Sports Minister. We need sports educated person to be a sports minister, enough lawyers elected to be the sports minister, enough agriculture graduates to be sports administrators. We need right people for the right place. Are we ready?

Football associations belong to the footballer, not just football enthusiasts. If we want to see football success, we have to do the quantum leap. For me, there is no difference between current footballers and Arwah Mohktar Dahari. I would say that most of the current athletes can run faster than Arwah. But almost all of our footballer cant have the speed of Rooney, cant have the agility of Ronaldinho, and they cant even have the fitness level as good as the Korean player. The Koreans has done their quantum leap way back in 1982. But not us. When bro???
